Azimuth Photonics appointed to sell ioLight Portable Microscopes in Russia

Azimuth Photonics is now an official reseller for ioLight portable microscopes in Russia. Azimuth Photonics is a dynamic, fast-growing distributor of optoelectronic components, devices and research equipment for the photonics industry in Russia. The microscopy department of Azimuth Photonics is focused on sales of laser-optical systems and components for imaging applications such as microscopy, optogenetics, electrophysiology, optical tomography.

ioLight has patented the only pocket microscope that instantly shares images of cells. Target markets are climate research and remote diagnostics of animals plants and humans. Hundreds of the world’s leading scientists are using the ioLight microscope in remote locations like The Amazon Rainforest, Antarctica and the Kazakh steppe. National Geographic® recently filmed the product at 5,300m on Mount Everest, the highest altitude microscope on earth.

ioLight was incorporated in 2014 and is now growing its sales network to provide lab quality portable microscopes to researchers on every continent. ioLight’s microscopes are also the perfect tool to draw visitors to exhibition stands, displaying real-time video onto a standard TV monitor.

ioLight announces new partner in The Netherlands

ioLight is pleased to announce a new partnership with of ABBEoptics in The Netherlands.

Albert van der Veer, founder of ABBEoptics has over forty years of sales experience mostly laboratory and stereo microscopes. He has worked for Zeiss and other leading microscope manufacturers. “I have always been interested in portable microscopes, but never found a reliable model. Using mobile phone components, WiFi image transfer and modern tablets ioLight has built a good and reliable microscope that magnifies several hundred times.” ABBEoptics has sold digital cameras and microscopes for incident light for 5 years and van der Veer believes that the ioLight pocket microscopes will fit in perfectly: “Collaboration and communication through Andrew Monk are good and friendly and this promises a lot for the future. There is a market for pocket microscopes. I am convinced that ioLight is doing the right thing by building a pocket microscope for fieldwork. This product can be used excellently by anyone who is passionate about the field of Biology”

Laboratory microscopes have expensive and elaborate focusing mechanisms and XY stages that make it easy for an expert to get a great image. However, these controls also make conventional microscopes expensive, big and difficult to use in the field. The ioLight microscope fits your pocket in terms of its size and its price. One of the ways we achieve this is by discarding the focus knobs and the XY stage, but how do you actually use a microscope like that?
